Two Land O’ Lakes Men Killed In Overnight Crash On US-41

LAND O’ Lakes, FL.- Two Land O’ Lakes men were killed in an early-morning crash on US 41 overnight.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, a single-unit 4300 Series International truck, was traveling northbound on US-41, south of Crystal Lake Road, in a turn lane, and the Land O’ Lakes men were in a Ford Mustang traveling southbound on US-41 in the center lane.

Troopers say the truck attempted a U-Turn in the path of the Mustang.

The Mustang collided with the right side of the truck, traveled under the vehicle frame, and stopped in the center median. The truck stopped facing west across the outside and center southbound lanes.

Both occupants of the Mustang, a 30-year-old man and a 32-year-old man, both from Land O’ Lakes, suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.

FHP says that lanes were closed as a result of the crash until 7:15 AM.
