A chilling case of alleged child abuse in Texas has led to the arrest of two women, authorities announced. The arrests follow a harrowing disclosure by a 12-year-old child who revealed ongoing physical and sexual abuse, prompting a swift response from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation began on September 28, 2025, when Sheriff’s Office Deputies and Detectives from the Special Victims Unit responded to the call.

The young victim was rushed to a local hospital, where medical staff confirmed injuries consistent with abuse and malnutrition.

Just days later, on October 3, 2025, Detectives secured and executed arrest warrants for Brenda Garcia (38) and Tania Garcia (37). The sisters face multiple felony charges, including Injury to a Child, Unlawful Restraint, and Invasive Visual Recording.

Child Safe as Sheriff Vows Justice

The young victim is now safe and receiving critical medical care and support services.

Sheriff Doolittle addressed the community, stating, “The safety and well-being of children will always be my highest priority. This case is deeply disturbing, but it also highlights the importance of community awareness and the courage it takes to speak up.” He added, “Together, we can protect the most vulnerable among us and ensure that justice is served.”

Community Urged to Remain Vigilant

Authorities stress that this is an active and ongoing investigation. To protect the child’s privacy and the integrity of the case, no further details have been released at this time.

The Sheriff’s Office implores the public to remain vigilant. If you suspect a child is being abused or neglected, do not hesitate to act:

  • Call local law enforcement or the Texas Abuse Hotline at 1-800-252-5400.
  • In an emergency, call 911 immediately.
  • Crimes can also be reported anonymously to Multi-County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-392-STOP(7867).
