Two Tractor-Trailers Crash in Lakeland Polk County Thursday

LAKELAND, FL. – Two tractor-trailers crashed this morning just after 11:00 a.m. on I-4 and Polk Parkway. According to Florida Highway Patrol, the tractor-trailers were traveling eastbound on the I-4 exit ramp to access eastbound Polk Parkway (SR-570) in the outside and inside lane respectively.

On the ramp, one tractor-trailer merged into the inside lane of travel and impacted the right rear of the trailer towed by the other. The first truck entered the outside shoulder and impacted the concrete barrier wall, then traveled along the wall and overturned onto its left side on the outside grass shoulder, while the second truck came to final rest along the inside shoulder of the entrance ramp.

Troopers say no injuries were reported in this accident.
