U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced the successful execution of precision airstrikes in Syria on December 16, targeting known ISIS camps and operatives. The operation resulted in the elimination of 12 ISIS terrorists.

The strikes were part of CENTCOM’s broader mission to disrupt, degrade, and defeat ISIS while preventing the terrorist group from regrouping or conducting external operations. These targeted attacks occurred in areas previously controlled by the Syrian regime and Russian forces, ensuring continued pressure on ISIS in central Syria.

According to initial assessments, there are no indications of civilian casualties. Battle damage assessments are currently underway to determine the full impact of the operation.

“CENTCOM, working with allies and partners in the region, will not allow ISIS to reconstitute and take advantage of the current situation in Syria,” said General Michael Erik Kurilla, CENTCOM commander.
