U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM) announced the successful destruction of an Iranian-backed Houthi missile system in a Houthi-controlled area of Yemen within the past 24 hours.
The missile system was deemed to pose a clear and imminent threat to U.S. and coalition forces, as well as merchant vessels operating in the region. The strike was conducted to ensure the safety of international waters and to protect the freedom of navigation for U.S., coalition, and commercial vessels.

USCENTCOM emphasized that the action contributes to enhancing the security of the region’s waterways, which are vital for global trade and maritime safety.
