ORLANDO, Fla. – A Davenport man has been sentenced to six years in federal prison for his role in a fentanyl trafficking operation. Jose David Figueroa Pacheco, 33, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Paul W. Byron after being found guilty by a jury on June 11, 2025.

The sentence follows a joint investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, which targeted firearms and narcotics traffickers in the Orlando area. According to trial testimony and evidence, an undercover officer arranged to purchase a firearm and fentanyl pills from Figueroa Pacheco’s codefendant, Alberto Ismael Salinas Valencia.

Salinas Valencia, who previously pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison, arrived at the transaction in Figueroa Pacheco’s truck.

During the drug deal, Figueroa Pacheco was instrumental in the transaction, making phone calls to arrange the delivery of the fentanyl pills, inspecting them, and helping to facilitate the sale.

The successful prosecution highlights the ongoing efforts of federal and local law enforcement to combat the trafficking of dangerous narcotics, like fentanyl, which has been linked to a surge in overdose deaths across the country.
