OCALA, Fla. – A 32-year-old Bradley man is facing a potential 30-year stay in federal prison after admitting to his role in an attempted child exploitation plot.
Bradly Dwayne Wimberly, a resident of Polk County, pleaded guilty to the attempted production of child sexual abuse material following a long-term undercover investigation.
The case against Wimberly began in February 2024 and continued through July 2025. According to court documents, Wimberly believed he was chatting online with a girl between the ages of 13 and 14.
Over the course of their digital correspondence, he repeatedly asked the minor to record sexually explicit videos and take photos of herself to send to him. In reality, the “girl” was a special agent from Homeland Security Investigations working undercover to identify predators.

U.S. Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe announced the guilty plea, noting that Wimberly now faces a mandatory minimum of 15 years in federal prison. The investigation was a collaborative effort between Homeland Security Investigations and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
The prosecution, led by Assistant United States Attorney Sarah Janette Swartzberg, is part of the Department of Justice’s “Project Safe Childhood.”
Launched in 2006, the initiative focuses on pooling federal, state, and local resources to apprehend those who exploit children online. Wimberly remains in federal custody while awaiting his formal sentencing hearing.
