LAND O’ LAKES, Fla. — For parents in Pasco County looking to shake up their child’s education next year, the clock starts ticking in just a few weeks.
District officials announced Tuesday that the School Choice Application Window for the 2026–2027 academic year will officially open on January 7, 2026.
This specific window is the primary opportunity for families to apply for specialized magnet programs, career academies, or simply a school outside their assigned zone. With “innovative programs” available across the county, the district is urging parents to review their options early.

The application period is brief, running for just under two weeks. The deadline to submit an application is January 20, 2026, at 4:30 p.m.
After the window closes, families will have a short wait before finding out if they secured a seat. The district has scheduled the notification period to run from March 2 through March 11, 2026, ending at 4:30 p.m.
