UPDATE: Missing 16-Year-Old Homestead Girl Located Safe

Antoinette Smith has been located and is safe. The Florida Missing Child Alert has been canceled.

ORIGINAL REPORT: Police in Homestead are asking for the public’s help to find 16-year-old Antoinette Smith, who disappeared from her neighborhood under circumstances that have now triggered a state-level Missing Child Alert.

Antoinette was last seen in the 2500 block of Southeast 14th Avenue. According to investigators, the case was recently upgraded to a formal alert status as the investigation into her disappearance continues.

She is described as a Black female, standing 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing approximately 120 pounds. She has brown eyes and black hair, which officials say she may currently be wearing in long braids.

When she was last seen, she was dressed in a black long-sleeve shirt, pink leggings, brown socks, and white Crocs. Police also noted that Antoinette might be wearing green-colored contact lenses.

The Homestead Police Department is leading the search. Authorities urge anyone who may have seen her or has information about her whereabouts to take immediate action.

“If you have any information on the whereabouts of this child, please contact the Homestead Police Department at 305-247-1535 or 911,” the agency stated in the official release.
