LAKELAND, FL – Westbound traffic on US Highway 92 is moving again tonight after a fatal crash forced a significant closure between Auburndale and Lakeland earlier this evening.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) Traffic Unit responded to the scene of a traffic fatality near the Schalamar Golf & Country Club. Investigators shut down the westbound lanes of US 92 from Palmer Road to Schalamar Creek Drive to process the scene, diverting drivers to alternate routes for several hours.
