DADE CITY, Fla. – Drivers in Dade City will see a significant traffic pattern change as the southbound lane of the US 98 Bypass has reopened, restoring two-way traffic on the highway. The reopening allows both northbound and southbound traffic to remain on the bypass as construction continues to widen the road to four lanes.

Drivers should be aware of new traffic signals at River Road/Whitehouse Avenue and where northbound 7th Street connects to the bypass.

Simultaneously, the south end of 7th Street is now closed at its intersection with US 98/US 301. The closure, which is expected to last for six months, is for the construction of a new roundabout.

A detour is in place for traffic that would normally use the 7th Street intersection. Drivers should use the US 98 Bypass/US 301, Meridian Avenue, and 7th Street. Motorists are advised to use caution and be alert for new traffic patterns and construction crews.
