AG Tells Hannity on Fox News That ’Everything Is On The Table’ As DOJ Indicts Former FBI Director James Comey
The alleged “weaponization” of the legal system against political opponents is over, according to former Attorney General Pam Bondi, who made the declaration Friday on Fox News’ Hannity.
Bondi’s comments came in the wake of the Department of Justice’s (DOJ’s) indictment of former FBI Director James Comey on Thursday. Comey faces one count of making an alleged false statement to Congress and one count of obstruction of a congressional investigation.
In a segment discussing the legal challenges faced by President Donald Trump—from the “Russiagate hoax” to efforts to suppress the Hunter Biden laptop story—Fox host Sean Hannity expressed his “nervous[ness] for the country.”
“You shouldn’t be nervous any longer because Donald Trump is in office, and the weaponization has ended. We’ve made that very clear,” Bondi assured the host. “Whether you’re a former FBI director, whether you’re a former head of an Intel community… Everything is on the table.”
The charges against Comey follow early reports and a grand jury decision regarding allegations he lied to Congress in September 2020. Specifically, the indictment states that Comey falsely claimed he “did not authorize someone at the FBI to be an anonymous source.”
Bondi stressed a new era of accountability, stating, “We will investigate you, and we will end the weaponization… No longer will there be a two-tier system of justice.” She cited joint efforts with FBI Director Kash Patel, DNI Tulsi Gabbard, and CIA Director John Radcliffe.
During his 2020 testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee, Comey pleaded ignorance regarding significant issues with the reliability of the Steele dossier, claiming he was not notified by his staff about problems with the primary source, Igor Danchenko. Comey also couldn’t “recall” details about a 2016 briefing on the DOJ’s concerns over the dossier’s political bias against Trump.
The new legal action against Comey comes months after current FBI Director Kash Patel reportedly uncovered “burn bags” containing thousands of documents tied to discrediting the original Russia case, including a classified annex to Special Counsel John Durham’s final report. For years, President Trump has asserted that Democrats in government have targeted him with politically motivated legal battles, including the Russian collusion claims and the 2022 FBI raid on his Florida home. According to Bondi, that alleged era of unequal justice is now definitively over.
