U.S. Rep. Ronny Jackson has renewed his call for President Joe Biden to resign because his mental acuity is lacking.
In a tweet on Friday, the Texas Republican said, “Biden doesn’t know what’s going on with Ukraine. He doesn’t know what’s going on with ANYTHING! He’s not cognitively capable of leading. He needs to RESIGN before our country suffers any more.”
It’s unclear what prompted Jackson’s tweet.
But Jackson, the former White House doctor for both Presidents Donald Trump and Barack Obama, has been the leading voice of those questioning Biden’s mental stamina and agility.
And more Americans are beginning to see Biden as Jackson does.
In November, a poll found that 48 percent of Americans believed Biden was mentally unfit to serve as president. In late February, just before the State of the Union address, another poll revealed 54 percent of Americans thought Biden lacked the “mental sharpness” to fulfill his duties.
Jackson has waged this campaign for months, regularly demanding that Biden submit to a cognitive test or simply resign.
Last month, The Free Press reported that Jackson sent a letter to Biden urging the 79-year-old president to take a competency exam similar to the one Trump took. In the letter, Jackson wrote, “The American people have continuously lost faith in your ability to effectively and competently handle your duties as President of the United States.”
In an interview with Fox News after the letter was sent, Jackson said, “Joe Biden has continually proven to me and to the world that something isn’t right.”
Thirty-seven Republican lawmakers endorsed the letter, including Florida Reps. Greg Steube, Byron Donalds, and Kat Cammack.
In January, Jackson tweeted, “BIDEN JUST IGNORED A QUESTION ABOUT HIS COGNITIVE DECLINE! Something is WRONG with him. This man IS NOT qualified to be President!! I am demanding he have a cognitive test NOW. There’s too much on the line, we need to know!”
Jackson first began calling for Biden to take a cognitive exam in June.
He sent a letter then too, noting in a statement he did so after noticing “a clear decline of Biden’s cognitive ability, including embarrassing performances on the world stage.”
“The American people deserve to have absolute confidence in their President. They deserve to know that he or she can perform the duties demanded of the office, and they deserve to have full transparency on the mental state of their highest elected leader,” said Jackson, recalling that liberals demanded Trump submit to a similar test.
“Given the precedent set and Biden’s clear mental impairment, I believe it is past time he undergo a cognitive test.” Just 13 Republicans signed Jackson’s first letter to the White House.
A month later, after watching Biden’s lackluster performance at a town hall session on CNN, Jackson tweeted, “Our cities are EXPLODING with drugs & violence because of Democrat ‘defund the police’ policies and the GREAT UNITER Joe Biden deflects to talk about ‘sucking blood out of kids.’ He’s completely LOST it! Needs a cognitive exam NOW!”
In August, just before Biden’s bungled withdrawal from Afghanistan, Jackson said it was time for the 46th president to go.
“The reality is I don’t even think it’s to the point where he needs a test anymore,” Jackson told the website JustTheNews.com.
“I think he’s proven to the entire country right now that he has issues and these issues are impacting our safety and our national security,” added Jackson.
“I think it’s obvious at this point. I think a test won’t do anything but confirm what everybody in this country already knows is that he doesn’t have the competency and the cognitive ability to be our commander-in-chief and lead this country, and he needs to step down and let somebody who can do it, do it.”
