TAMPA, Fla. – Whether it’s the Byrum Brown-led offense or a ball-hungry defense, the Bulls have produced plenty of highlight-reel moments this season. They have also recorded some impressive numbers in winning seven of their first nine games. Here is a sampling.
5: School record 50-plus yard field goals by Nico Gramatica after booting one from 51 yards against UTSA last Thursday night.
6: Consecutive home games the Bulls have won by at least 25 points dating to last season. They have outscored UTSA (55-23), FAU (48-13), Charlotte (54-26), South Carolina State (63-14), Boise State (34-7) and Tulsa (63-30) by a combined 317-113.
6.2: Yards per rush in five conference games.
6.5: Tackles for loss senior corner Jarvis Lee has recorded the past two games, including three sacks. He leads the team with 10.5 TFLs.
6.92: Yards per play to rank 13th nationally.
9: Byrum Brown’s career total of 100-yard rushing games after running for 109 yards against the Roadrunners. He entered the game tied with B.J. Daniels for second in program history among QBs. Quinton Flowers leads the way with 16.
20: Scoring drives of 75-plus yards, which have resulted in 18 touchdowns.
21: Alex Golesh’s win total at USF, which is tied for third with Charlie Strong in program history. Willie Taggart is next with 24. Jim Leavitt won 95 games.
24.7: Average return yards on 11 interceptions. Seven of the Bulls’ picks have resulted in returns of at least 20 yards, including touchdowns by Mac Harris (93 yards) and Tavin Ward (40).
38: Yards rushing Byrum Brown needs for 2,000 in his career. He would become the eighth player in USF’s history, and fourth quarterback, to reach that plateau.
40: The Bulls have scored at least 40 points in nine of their last 15 games dating to a 44-21 victory last November 1 at FAU.
42.0: Average points through nine games, good for fifth nationally.
55.0: Average points in four conference wins.
485: Yards per game on the season to rank seventh nationally.
