Despite an early lead by Southern Miss, the USF Bulls dominated the game, winning 49-24. The Golden Eagles’ initial momentum, sparked by two quick touchdowns, was short-lived as the Bulls’ quarterback Byrum Brown led a powerful offensive surge.
Brown’s impressive performance included touchdown passes to Payten Singletary and Joshua Hardeman and a rushing touchdown.

USF’s defense also stepped up, forcing turnovers and limiting Southern Miss’s opportunities.
The Golden Eagles struggled to maintain their rhythm, further compounded by an ankle injury to quarterback Zach Pyron. Despite attempts to rally with three different quarterbacks, including Billy Wiles and freshman John White, they couldn’t overcome the Bulls’ relentless attack.
The Bulls’ balanced offense saw six different players score touchdowns, while Southern Miss relied heavily on Tiaquelin Mims, who led the team in receiving yards.
