Vanished Between Georgia And Florida: FBI Hunts For Missing Trucker After Rest Stop Mystery

The FBI’s Tampa Field Office has launched an urgent investigation into the disappearance of Alejandro Jacomino Gonzalez, a commercial driver who vanished last week under suspicious circumstances while transporting a shipment of vehicles between Georgia and Florida.

On April 16, 2026, Gonzalez, a CDL driver for a private trucking firm, loaded several vehicles at the Port of Brunswick in Georgia. His scheduled route was a straight shot south to Miami, Florida, for delivery.

According to investigators, Gonzalez reached a truck stop in Brevard County, Florida, at approximately 1:21 a.m. and parked for several hours of rest.

The timeline takes a confusing turn the following morning. At 7:49 a.m., GPS data from the rig showed the truck driving south for one exit before abruptly turning around and heading north back toward Jacksonville.

Shortly after this change in direction, Gonzalez became unreachable, and the truck was reported missing.

Federal agents located the abandoned truck the following day, April 17, in Port Wentworth, Georgia. While the vehicle was recovered, Gonzalez was nowhere to be found.

A search of the hauler revealed that several of the vehicles he was transporting had been stolen. While three of those vehicles have since been recovered at different locations in Florida, others remain missing along with the driver.

The FBI is now specifically focused on the Brevard County Rest Area in Grant-Valkaria, Florida. They are seeking any photos or video footage taken by travelers at that location between 1 a.m. and 8 a.m. on Friday, April 17.

Investigators are particularly interested in the southern portion of the rest area, near the ramp that feeds back onto I-95 South.

Authorities are treating this as a potential hijacking and are asking for the public’s help to piece together Gonzalez’s final known movements.
