Venice Man Faces 42 Felony Charges Following Deep Dive Into Digital Devices

SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. – A Venice man is behind bars without bond this week after a multi-agency investigation into the transmission of illegal digital materials led to dozens of felony charges. The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office, working alongside the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force and tactical units, descended on a residence at 431 Golden Beach Blvd on March 18 to serve search and arrest warrants.

The investigation centered on 36-year-old Philip O. Radke. Authorities initially identified Radke as a suspect following a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

That tip sparked an ICAC Task Force investigation, which resulted in Radke’s first arrest on two counts of Transmission of Child Pornography.

While the warrants were served without incident, the legal trouble for Radke was only beginning.

After Radke posted bond for the initial charges, specialists at the Digital Forensic Lab began a deep-dive analysis of electronic devices seized from the home.

According to investigators, the digital search uncovered a significant volume of additional illicit images and raised new concerns regarding communications about the sexual abuse of children.

The new evidence prompted a second sweep by law enforcement. On March 25, the SCSO Fugitive Apprehension Unit located Radke and took him back into custody.

He now faces 40 additional counts of Felony in Possession of Child Pornography. Unlike his first arrest, Radke is currently being held at the local correctional facility with no bond permitted.

The Sheriff’s Office characterized the operation as a successful collaborative effort to remove a dangerous offender from the community.

As the case moves forward, the investigation remains open. Detectives are asking anyone who may have information related to this case or the suspect to reach out to SCSO Detective O’Koren at 941-861-4900.
