The transgender agenda may be running out of steam. Even left-wing Vermont is raising doubts about our confusing sexual politics.
The Blaze, a conservative website, reported this week that a Vermont’s girls’ basketball team forfeited a playoff game instead of taking on an opponent that featured a transgender player.
The Mid Vermont Christian School Eagles of White River Junction, the No. 12 seed, were set to battle the Long Trail Mountain Lions of Dorset, the No. 5 seed, during the first round of the state playoff tournament.

However, the Eagles dropped out of the tournament and therefore forfeited their chance to compete for a state title after they learned that one member of the Mountain Lions is a male.
“We withdrew from the tournament because we believe playing against an opponent with a biological male jeopardizes the fairness of the game and the safety of our players,” said Vicky Fogg, principal of Mid Vermont Christian School. “Allowing biological males to participate in women’s sports sets a bad precedent for the future of women’s sports in general.”
Following the forfeit, Long Trail High was sent packing.
The Blaze pointed out that Vermont state law allows high schoolers to “participate in physical education and sports in accordance with [their] gender identity.”

“Vermont students are also permitted to use the bathrooms that accord with their supposed gender identity, not their biological sex,” The Blaze added.
