Victim In Florida Runs To Police Station For Help After Being Shot In The Neck, Chased By A Car

A violent early morning confrontation ended with a bleeding victim making a desperate run to a police station for survival after being shot in the neck.

The chaotic scene unfolded around 4:50 a.m. on Sunday in the 900 block of SE Tarpon Avenue. According to investigators, the victim was shot during a dispute but managed to escape on foot. Surveillance footage reviewed by detectives captured the man fleeing through the neighborhood while a vehicle drove through a nearby field, apparently attempting to run him down.

Despite his injuries, the man reached the police station, where officers immediately rendered aid. He was transported to a local hospital and is expected to survive.

Patrol officers quickly secured the scene and recovered the firearm involved. Minutes later, they located a suspect matching the description provided by witnesses.

Police arrested Vandra Vanessa Newton, 42, of Stuart, after physical evidence linked her to the shooting. Detectives determined the act was intentional following an earlier altercation.

Newton has been charged with attempted second-degree murder.

Officials credited the swift arrest to the coordination between dispatchers, road patrol, and detectives, noting that their rapid response likely prevented further violence.
