Six-Year-Old Girl Victim in Public Assault; Quick Action Leads to Arrest
A 21-year-old Virginia man was arrested Friday, July 12, following an incident of alleged aggravated sexual battery involving a 6-year-old girl at a local Sam’s Club. The swift actions of the victim’s mother and responding officers led to the rapid identification and apprehension of the suspect.
Police were called to the Sam’s Club located at 14050 Worth Ave at approximately 11:50 AM after reports of a sexual assault.

The investigation revealed that the young victim was shopping with her family when an unknown man, later identified as Justin Van Nguyen, of Woodbridge, approached her. While the child’s mother was momentarily distracted, Nguyen allegedly inappropriately touched the 6-year-old.
The victim’s mother immediately confronted the accused, who then fled the store and was seen getting into a vehicle. Fortunately, a license plate number was obtained, providing crucial information to law enforcement.

Officers quickly tracked Nguyen to his residence on Kinnicutt Dr in Woodbridge, where he was arrested.
Justin Van Nguyen has been charged with aggravated sexual battery. He was arrested on July 12 and is currently being held on an unsecured bond. A court date is pending.
