Wahneta Woman, Wanted for Burglary and Grand Theft, Tracked Down by PCSO Deputies
WAHNETA, Fla. — A 32-year-old Wahneta woman with an active warrant for Burglary and Grand Theft was taken into custody early Saturday morning after an extensive search aided by tips from the local community.
Amber Shaw, who was wanted by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO), was apprehended after deputies spent Friday making contact with Wahneta residents to gather information about her whereabouts. The community outreach efforts quickly yielded results, providing deputies with several possible locations.

The search culminated in the early hours of Saturday, September 27th. At approximately 1:00 AM, deputies discovered Shaw’s bicycle parked outside one of the provided locations. Upon entering the residence, Amber Shaw was located hiding under a bed.
She was taken into custody without incident and was booked in at the Sheriff’s Processing Center on her outstanding warrant. The successful apprehension highlights the effectiveness of the PCSO’s proactive neighborhood engagement in locating fugitives.
