After reaching out to the Parks and Recreation department, we spoke with Kari Fuhrmann, Information Specialist, who stated in response to the closure, “The summer camp at Walter Fuller Recreation Center is closed through Friday because two campers tested positive for COVID-19. The center is expected to reopen on Monday after it has been deep cleaned. Employees at the center did contact campers’ parents by phone to notify them of the positive cases and the temporary closure of the camp.”

She went on to say, “No other summer camps at City recreation centers are closed. Staff are following new guidelines that have been implemented for camps this summer. These guidelines are available at www.RestartStPete.com under the Orders and Policies section.”

If parents have any questions, they are encouraged to reach out to the Walter Fuller Recreation Center directly or contact the St. Petersburg Parks & Recreation Department.
