LAKE WALES, Fla. – A 56-year-old woman with an outstanding felony warrant was taken into custody Saturday morning following a brief but noisy standoff with Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) deputies.
Holly Britt Allen, of Lake Wales, was wanted on serious charges, including Armed Burglary in a Dwelling, Grand Theft of a Firearm, and Grand Theft. PCSO deputies located Ms. Allen at a residence on Conner Road in Lake Wales around 8 a.m. on Saturday, November 15th.
Deputies quickly surrounded the home after confirming Allen’s vehicle was parked outside and receiving information that she was inside. When a deputy attempted to call her, they could hear her phone ringing from inside the residence.
According to a PCSO report, deputies then made “several very loud announcements,” repeatedly instructing Ms. Allen to exit the home and surrender. Approximately 10 minutes after demands to come out, Allen surrendered to deputies without further incident.
Holly Allen was transported to the Sheriff’s Processing Center to be booked on the original outstanding warrant charges. She also received an additional charge of Resisting without Violence for her initial non-compliance and refusal to immediately surrender to law enforcement.
