Weeki Wachee Carrying Capacity Working Group to Hold Virtual Meeting

HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. – The Weeki Wachee Carrying Capacity Working Group will hold a virtual meeting on Friday, December 11, 2020, from 9 – 11 a.m. Hernando County staff, elected officials, and other government agencies will be in attendance.

The purpose of this multi-agency working group is to determine the most successful path to implement recommendations from the ecologically based carrying capacity study which evaluated recreational impacts on the natural system of the Weeki Wachee River and Spring. The working group will be able to review, research and provide the respective agencies’ ability and desire to act on any of the recommendations, including considering agency jurisdiction, direction from the Board or agency director, and funding ability for each of the recommendations.
