CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. – A 35-year-old Weeki Wachee man was struck and killed by a tractor-trailer Wednesday afternoon in Citrus County.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 2:20 p.m. on US-19, south of West Merrivale Lane.
A tractor-trailer, driven by a 50-year-old Ocala man, was traveling southbound on US-19 when the pedestrian attempted to cross the highway, entering the truck’s path.

The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash. The driver of the tractor-trailer was uninjured.
