WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla.— Authorities are seeking the driver of an SUV involved in a fatal hit-and-run collision that claimed the life of a 39-year-old Wesley Chapel man Sunday evening.
The incident occurred at approximately 7:00 PM on Boyette Road, just north of Vienna Woods Lane. According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), a dark-colored SUV, possibly a Toyota 4Runner or a similar model, was traveling southbound when it struck the pedestrian who was walking along the southbound edge of the roadway.
The driver of the vehicle failed to stop and immediately fled the scene following the collision.
The victim was discovered deceased by a passerby nearly twelve hours later, shortly before 7:00 AM on Monday.
