The Trump administration opened a new front in its ongoing conflict with the press corps, unveiling a public database designed to catalog and refute what it terms “fake news.”

The new portal, hosted at wh.gov/mediabias, serves as a centralized repository for news stories the White House disputes. According to the administration, the site allows the public to view specific instances of “deliberate distortions” and “manufactured hoaxes” alongside what officials describe as the objective facts.

The database is designed to be sortable and will be updated routinely. It lists specific journalists and news organizations, effectively creating a permanent record of the administration’s grievances with specific reporters.

In a statement announcing the launch, the White House framed the initiative as a necessary countermeasure against “activist journalists.” The tool is intended to work in tandem with the White House Rapid Response account on X, formerly Twitter, to push back against unfavorable coverage in real-time.

Officials stated the goal of the portal is to bypass traditional media filters, offering Americans “unfiltered truth” rather than “corporate spin.” The move signals an escalation in the administration’s strategy to communicate directly with voters while aggressively challenging the credibility of mainstream news outlets.
