In a move to uphold the integrity of women’s and girls’ sports, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt addressed members of the media today, outlining President Trump’s latest executive action aimed at safeguarding female athletes. The executive order, set to be signed later today, marks a pivotal step in the administration’s commitment to protecting women’s sports from what Leavitt described as “the radical gender ideology” of the previous administration.
Leavitt emphasized that the executive order aligns with President Trump’s campaign promise to restore common sense to federal policy.

“The president will be signing an executive order keeping men out of women’s sports to defend the safety of athletes, protect competitive integrity, and uphold the promise of Title IX,” Leavitt announced.
She characterized the move as a necessary correction to what she called “the disgusting betrayal of women and girls” by prior leadership, which she accused of catering to “radical activists” who sought to allow biological males to compete in women’s sports and access female-only spaces.
“Gender ideology insanity is over,” Leavitt declared, signaling a firm stance against policies that permit biological males to participate in women’s sports, use women’s locker rooms, or access other single-sex spaces.
The executive order, she explained, is designed to ensure that women and girls can compete on a level playing field and maintain the protections guaranteed under Title IX, the federal law prohibiting sex-based discrimination in education and athletics.

While the House of Representatives has already passed the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act, the Senate has yet to take up the measure. Leavitt acknowledged that executive orders can be overturned but stressed the importance of congressional action to solidify these protections.
“The president is setting the tone and making this an immediate priority for this administration, just as he promised on the campaign trail,” she said.
The executive order will require the Department of Justice to take immediate enforcement actions against schools and athletic associations that deny women single-sex sports and locker rooms. It also calls for the convening of private sporting bodies at the White House to hear firsthand accounts from female athletes who have been impacted by the inclusion of biological males in women’s sports.
“Many of those women will be at the White House today,” Leavitt said, urging members of the media to engage with them and share their stories.
Leavitt highlighted the widespread popularity of the administration’s position, citing a recent poll showing that an overwhelming majority of Americans, including Democrats, support keeping biological men out of women’s sports.
“This is a wildly popular position with the American people,” she said, underscoring the administration’s confidence in the policy’s alignment with public sentiment.
