WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – A 23-year-old Winter Haven man, Sabastian Angel Suarez, was arrested Tuesday evening following a disruptive outburst at the scene of a crash investigation.
Around 9:25 p.m., Polk County Sheriff’s Office deputies were investigating a crash at the intersection of Winter Lake Road (SR 540) and Brandy Chase Boulevard when Suarez approached the scene. He initially asked a deputy, “Yo, what the **** happened?”

The deputy explained that it was a car crash and that everyone appeared to be alright. Suarez then stepped within a foot of the deputy and angrily retorted, “No **** a car crash happened! Who hit who?”
The deputy instructed Suarez to step back so they could continue their work. Suarez responded by yelling, ” **** you! You can’t tell me what to do!”
The deputy warned Suarez that he was impeding the investigation and would be arrested if he didn’t move back. Suarez then stated, “I’m on an ankle monitor with a curfew…you can’t do ****, you can’t take me anywhere.”
Suarez was subsequently arrested. He continued to be uncooperative during the arrest process.

He was transported to the Polk County Jail and charged with violation of probation (willful child abuse), interfering with a first responder, and resisting (two counts).
Upon arrival at the jail, Suarez had calmed down and explained that a relative was involved in the crash. Deputies noted that had Suarez initially shared this information, and refrained from his confrontational and obstructive behavior, the situation would likely have had a different outcome.
