POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A Winter Haven man’s desperate attempt to evade arrest led to a chaotic chase and multiple charges after he rammed a deputy’s patrol car and fled on foot.
On Monday, September 23rd, 23-year-old Camerin Keelan of Winter Haven led Polk County Sheriff’s deputies on a dangerous chase after a reported domestic violence incident. Keelan initially fled the scene but was spotted driving suspiciously in the neighborhood by the PCSO Air unit.

When Deputy Howard attempted to block Keelan’s exit from the area, he intentionally rammed his car into her patrol vehicle and sped away.
A pursuit ensued, ending when Keelan crashed into a light pole and a boulder at a RaceTrac gas station. He then fled on foot but was quickly apprehended by deputies.

Upon his arrest, Keelan admitted he fled to avoid going back to jail. He now faces multiple charges, including aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, fleeing to elude, resisting arrest, leaving the scene of a crash, and violation of probation.
Disturbingly, Keelan was already out on pre-trial release for a prior charge of lewd & lascivious behavior on a minor. He is currently in custody at the Polk County Jail.
