WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – Winter Haven Police are on the scene of an officer-involved shooting that occurred earlier this morning.
According to police, no officers are injured and the suspect has non-life-threatening injuries and has been taken to the hospital for treatment.
The incident happened at the Haven of Lake Deer Apartments located at 350 24th St. NW.
The suspect, Jason Pickles, 43, has a long and violent criminal history and currently had a warrant for his arrest, according to police.
The investigation is being turned over to the 10th Judicial Circuit Officer Involved Shooting Team, police say.
