WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – A Winter Haven neighborhood turned into a crime scene early Monday morning after a homeowner’s security system caught three teenagers allegedly trying to break into cars. The incident, which unfolded on Fish Hawk Drive, ended with three juveniles in custody after a short search by local officers.

The situation began at 1:37 a.m. on March 15, 2026, when a resident was woken up by an alert from his surveillance cameras. Upon checking the live feed, the man saw three people in his driveway pulling on the door handles of his two vehicles. He immediately dialed 9-1-1.

Responding Winter Haven police officers arrived minutes later and began searching the immediate area. During the sweep, a neighbor reported seeing three individuals matching the description in another yard around midnight.

The investigation led police to a home at 200 Fish Hawk Drive, where a resident informed them that her two teenage sons had snuck out of the house without permission. After viewing the surveillance footage from the initial 9-1-1 caller, the mother told officers she believed the boys in the video were her children.

While patrolling the nearby streets, officers spotted two teenagers emerging from a wooded area and walking toward the 200 Fish Hawk Drive address. The pair was wearing the exact clothing seen in the security footage.

Police detained 16-year-old Kahlil White and 14-year-old Jahlil White on the spot. Moments later, a third teenager, 17-year-old Riley Isaac Tucker, walked out of the same woods and was identified as the third person from the video.

A search of the wooded area turned up a backpack that Jahlil White was seen carrying on camera. Inside the bag, officers recovered a screwdriver, several phone chargers, a mask, and a pair of blue gloves.

All three teenagers—Kahlil White, Jahlil White, and Riley Tucker—were transported to the Juvenile Assessment Center. They face multiple charges, including attempted burglary of a conveyance, possession of burglary tools with intent to use, wearing a mask while committing a criminal offense, and loitering and prowling.
