A Wisconsin man, 37-year-old Jason Allen Dorsey, has been arrested by the Delray Beach Police Department following a string of retail thefts and crimes across multiple Florida counties.
Dorsey, who is also tied to crimes in Jacksonville and Hardee County, will soon be transferred to Polk County to face numerous charges.
Dorsey’s spree unfolded on Friday, November 22, with incidents reported in Fort Meade, Bartow, and Lake Wales:
- Fort Meade (8:10 a.m.): Dorsey allegedly stole snacks, tea, beer, and cigarettes from Mac’s Discount Store before fleeing in a white GMC van with Illinois tags.
- Bartow: Shortly after, Dorsey targeted an Ace Hardware store, stealing power tools and other merchandise. Witnesses again identified the same white GMC van.
- Lake Wales (9:40 a.m.): A hit-and-run crash occurred on State Road 60 at West Lake Wales Road, involving a vehicle matching the van’s description. A Lake Wales officer located the van and attempted a traffic stop, but Dorsey fled the scene.

Dorsey’s crime spree came to an end around 3:05 p.m. on Friday when he was arrested by Delray Beach police. The van he was driving was later confirmed as stolen from Greenacres, Florida.
Investigators linked Dorsey to additional crimes, including:
- A retail theft at a Walmart in Hardee County on November 22.
- A retail theft in Palm Beach Gardens on November 18.
- A retail theft and battery at Lowe’s in Jacksonville on November 12.
Dorsey’s travel companion, Nikita Burris, also from Wisconsin, was arrested alongside him.
Dorsey is being held at the Palm Beach County Jail and will be transferred to Polk County to face charges for his crimes in Bartow, Fort Meade, and Lake Wales. Authorities across Florida are investigating his involvement in other incidents.
