U.S. Representative Byron Donalds is cementing his frontrunner status in the 2026 gubernatorial contest, announcing Monday that his campaign and associated political action committees raised $13.1 million in the fourth quarter of 2025 alone to start the election year with a massive financial advantage.

The latest influx brings Donalds’ total fundraising haul for the year to $45 million, a figure his team describes as a “war chest” intended to solidify his standing as the frontrunner for the Republican gubernatorial nomination.

According to the campaign, the fourth-quarter figures represent their strongest fundraising period to date, driven by contributions from more than 8,000 donors. The announcement comes as candidates across the state begin to position themselves for what is expected to be a highly competitive race to succeed Governor Ron DeSantis.

Donalds, a conservative who has risen quickly through the party ranks, is leaning heavily on his alliance with President Donald Trump. The President’s endorsement serves as a central pillar of Donalds’ platform, which also boasts backing from high-profile figures such as Elon Musk and U.S. House Leadership.

In Florida, Donalds has consolidated significant institutional support, securing endorsements from 27 county sheriffs, 17 members of the state’s congressional delegation, and three-quarters of the Republican caucus in the Florida House of Representatives.

Ryan Smith, Chief Strategist for the Donalds campaign, stated that the financial figures reflect broad voter enthusiasm.

“Byron Donalds enters the 2026 election as the proven Trump-endorsed conservative fighter ready to unify Florida Republicans,” Smith said in a statement. He outlined a platform focused on an “affordability agenda” aimed at lowering costs for families and seniors.

While the primary field is still taking shape, the Donalds campaign expressed confidence in its current standing, citing polling data that they claim shows the Congressman leading both primary rivals and potential Democratic opponents by wide margins.

“With President Trump’s endorsement, $45 million raised, and massive voter support across the Sunshine State, Byron Donalds will be Florida’s next Governor come November,” Smith added.

As the 2026 cycle heats up, Donalds’ substantial cash reserves and high-profile endorsements present a steep barrier for potential primary challengers looking to gain ground in the Sunshine State.
