Two Florida women are facing felony charges after authorities say they tried to roll out of a grocery store with two shopping carts full of food they didn’t pay for.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office arrested Erlinda Caridad Hernandez Ramos, 53, of El Portal, and Yaniuska A. Morera Carmona, 42, of Stock Island, on Friday, December 12. Both women have been charged with grand theft.

According to deputies, they were called to the Winn-Dixie on Big Pine Key around 6 p.m. following reports of a substantial theft. Investigators say the pair loaded up two carts with goods totaling $2,354.94 and walked out of the store without stopping at a register.
