Clearwater Mother Dead, 7-Year-Old Daughter Hospitalized In Domestic Dispute Sunday

A woman is dead, and her 7-year-old daughter remains hospitalized after a shooting between a boyfriend and ex-boyfriend happened on Sunday.

CLEARWATER, Fla. – A woman is dead, and her 7-year-old daughter remains hospitalized after a shooting between a boyfriend and ex-boyfriend happened on Sunday.

Clearwater Police and Clearwater Fire & Rescue responded to a shooting call at an apartment complex in the 600 block of Fairwood Avenue at 6:30 pm on Sunday.

According to investigators, the adult female victim, Nicolshia Washington, 25, died Sunday night at Mease Countryside Hospital. Her 7-year-old daughter remains hospitalized at All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg.

Police say the shooting occurred during a confrontation inside the apartment between Washington’s current boyfriend and former boyfriend as the former boyfriend was dropping off the child.

Both men exchanged gunfire, with the two victims being hit by bullets. Detectives have talked to Stacy Cross, the current boyfriend, and are seeking to locate Lavaris Delapierre, the former boyfriend.

It is believed that Delapierre was also shot and wounded and may be seeking medical treatment for his injuries.

He was wanted on multiple charges, including felony murder and armed burglary. According to police, Delapierre turned himself in to police on Monday afternoon.
