A Nebraska woman has bravely shared her harrowing account of being allegedly beaten, strangled, and kidnapped by her ex-boyfriend, who she says later tried to blow up his house with both of them inside.

Jesserae Beck, 42, told local TV station KOLN that her ex-partner, Christopher Collins, 36, “snapped into a completely different realm” during the September onslaught. Collins is now facing multiple charges including kidnapping, terroristic threats, and use of a weapon to commit a felony.

Beck, a mother of three, described waking up in a different house with no memory of how she got there after being knocked unconscious. She alleges Collins, who was out on bond for an August assault by strangulation incident, inflicted brutal injuries to her head, face, ribs, and back, telling her how “really bad” her face looked.

The situation escalated when authorities and a SWAT team raided the property on September 25. Beck alleges Collins was using a natural gas line to try and detonate an explosion and was actively strangling her as law enforcement entered. “He had zero intention of both of us making it out,” Beck stated.

SWAT members reportedly subdued and arrested Collins. Beck was hospitalized with numerous injuries, including left rib fractures, a brain bleed, and a fractured nose. Police allegedly found blood splattered around the home and chunks of hair.

Collins is due in court on November 6 and reportedly faces life in prison if convicted. Beck expressed gratitude for her survival, telling KOLN, “It could be worse, you know. I could be dead. I’m thankful every day I’m not.”
