Woman Ejected After Jeep Flips In Violent Madeira Beach Red Light Run And Collision

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – A late-night crash at a busy Madeira Beach intersection has left a woman fighting for her life after she was thrown from her vehicle during a rollover.

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) arrived at Gulf Boulevard and 150th Avenue shortly after 9:43 P.M. on Sunday, May 10, at the scene of a high-impact crash.

According to investigators, 53-year-old Jane Walseth was heading north in a 2015 Jeep Wrangler when she approached the 150th Avenue light. At that same moment, 29-year-old Jordan Tuttle was behind the wheel of a 2024 Tesla Model 3, attempting to make an eastbound turn onto 150th Avenue.

Deputies say that Walseth failed to stop for the red light and drove directly into the path of Tuttle’s Tesla. The force of the collision caused the Jeep to flip onto its side. During the rollover, Walseth was ejected through the vehicle’s fiberglass top.

First responders located Walseth on the pavement next to the wreckage. She was unresponsive and rushed to a nearby hospital with injuries described by officials as life-threatening.

Tuttle, the driver of the Tesla, was also transported for medical care but sustained only non-life-threatening injuries. He has since been treated and released.

While the investigation remains active, deputies noted in news release 26-041 that impairment appears to be a factor in the crash. No formal charges have been announced at this time.
