A grim discovery in an abandoned house has sparked a homicide investigation in North Dallas. On the afternoon of May 10, Dallas Police Department officers responded to a call on Georgia Avenue after bystanders reported finding a body inside the vacant property.
The victim was identified as 27-year-old Mariah Murray. Paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene. According to reporting from Fox 4, Murray’s body was found hidden inside a freezer within the residence.
While police have not released a specific cause of death, the case is officially being treated as a homicide.
Family members gathered at the scene this week, reeling from the news and looking for accountability from the neighborhood. “All of these people around here, somebody who knows did it,” Murray’s cousin told Fox 4. “They know who did it.”

Other relatives remembered Murray fondly, describing her as a “good spirit.”
As of now, investigators have not named a suspect or established a motive for the killing. The Dallas Police Department is urging anyone with information regarding the incident or Murray’s final movements to contact them directly at 214-671-3671.
