“You Don’t Know My Son” Police Seek Suspects in Sunday Night McDonald’s Shooting

TARPON SPRINGS, Fla. – Tarpon Springs Police are seeking the suspects involved in a shooting that started at McDonald’s in Tarpon Springs on Sunday.

Investigators say at approximately 9:37 pm on Sunday officers with Tarpon Springs Police Department responded to an armed person call at McDonald’s, 40728 US 19 N. 

Police say the two victims were attempting to enter the drive-thru while doing so they were cut off by a heavyset black female, approximately 40 years of age, driving a white Volkswagen SUV.

The driver of the VW exited her vehicle and approached the victims stating, “You don’t know my son”. 

A short time later a vehicle believed to be a white Toyota Corolla with dark tinted windows approached from the north side of Mcdonald’s.  When the white 4-door came up next to the victim’s vehicle, a black male, late teens, early twenties, leaned out of the driver’s side window and displayed a black semi-automatic handgun.

The victims left the drive-thru in an attempt to get away, and the suspect vehicle followed the victims onto US19 firing multiple rounds which struck the rear of the victim’s vehicle.  No one was injured during the incident.

The names of the victims are not being released due to Marsy’s Law.
