Two illegal aliens are facing kidnapping charges after authorities located them in Daytona Beach, Florida, with two missing teenage girls from North Carolina. The Clayton County Police Department (CCPD) announced that the 14- and 15-year-old girls, who had been reported missing from North Carolina, were found unharmed and have been reunited with their families.

The investigation began on May 3rd when CCPD officers responded to a report from concerned parents whose daughters had disappeared overnight. According to investigators, the teens were last seen at 1:00 a.m. and had left a note indicating they were leaving with “some guys they met.”

Authorities stated that while the girls left voluntarily and were not forcibly taken, the circumstances leading to the kidnapping charges remain under investigation. Neither of the teenagers had a cellphone at the time of their disappearance.

Within a day of the initial report, authorities identified two suspects: Edwin Alberto Cardenas, 22, and Ericson Leonel Ullo-Flores, 18.

Arrest warrants were issued, and officers tracked the suspects to Daytona Beach, Florida. On May 5th, law enforcement located Cardenas and Ullo-Flores along with the missing girls and took the two men into custody.

Cardenas and Ullo-Flores were booked into the Volusia County Jail and are currently being held without bond. Both individuals have been flagged with immigration holds, indicating their undocumented status.

Authorities anticipate additional charges may be filed as the investigation progresses. The two men will be extradited to North Carolina to face the kidnapping charges.
