NAPLES, Fla. – United States Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe announced Thursday an indictment charging three Naples, Florida, men with conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire and the use of interstate commerce facilities in the furtherance of a murder-for-hire plot.

According to the indictment and evidence presented in court, the alleged conspiracy unfolded between April 16 and April 17, 2025. Authorities contend that Marquez Romero and Sabon Montero engaged in phone conversations during this period to discuss the killing of an individual identified by Hernandez. The proposed payment for the act was reportedly up to $30,000.

The indictment further alleges that Hernandez was initially hired by the intended victim’s brother to orchestrate the murder. Subsequent phone calls and arrangements were made between Hernandez, Marquez Romero, and Sabon Montero to organize a meeting for further discussion of the plot.
