MONROE COUNTY, Fla. – Four men were arrested Saturday evening in the Florida Keys after a traffic stop on U.S. 1 led to the discovery of two handguns, one reported stolen, and illegal drugs. The incident unfolded near Mile Marker 103 when the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office pulled over a Nissan sedan at approximately 7:15 p.m.
The driver, Demerion Altwon Fields, 21, of Greenacres, Florida, was charged with multiple offenses, including driving without a valid driver’s license, grand theft of a firearm, possession of a firearm or ammunition despite being subject to a risk protection order, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Authorities stated that Fields is prohibited from possessing firearms due to a previous extreme risk protection order against him.

Also arrested were Isaiah Dimitris McCrary, 20, of West Palm Beach, Florida; Jimmy Cliff Leger, 21, of Palm Springs, Florida; and Todd Bradley Presendieu, 20, of Lake Worth, Florida.
McCrary faces charges of grand theft of a firearm, possession of a firearm by a Florida delinquent, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He has a prior conviction for robbery with a deadly weapon in Palm Beach County.
Leger and Presendieu were both charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the traffic stop was initiated due to a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. A subsequent search yielded significant findings, including:
- Two loaded 9mm handguns, one of which was reported stolen from a vehicle parked at a Florida Panthers hockey game, as confirmed by the Sunrise Police Department.
- Two loaded extended magazines.
- Approximately 22.5 grams of marijuana.
All four suspects were taken into custody and transported to jail. The investigation is ongoing.
