SARASOTA, FL. – Sarasota Police detectives are investigating a shooting in the 1400 block of Main Street, Sarasota, that happened just before 2 am, January 1, 2022.
Detectives believe this is an isolated incident and the public is not in any danger.
Sarasota Police officers were dispatched to a call of shots fired.
When officers arrived, they found one man hurt from a gunshot wound. The man was transported to Sarasota Memorial Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
At least one woman is in police custody in connection to the shooting.
This incident remains an active and ongoing investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the Sarasota Police Department Criminal Investigations Division at 941-263-6070.
