LAKELAND, Fla. — Southeastern University (SEU) is set to host the 2022 Annual Florida Organization for Human Services (FLOHS) Conference on October 13-14, 2022, on its Lakeland campus.
The theme for this year’s conference is “Surviving COVID: Coping, Counseling, and Connecting.”
“In some way or another, the pandemic has impacted us all. This conference is going to allow us to hear from the experts who had a direct hand in helping people through it,” said Dr. Ken Stephens, SEU’s human services program coordinator and vice president of FLOHS. “It is not only going to be a time of reflection, but we are also going to look at how we can continue to navigate this new landscape post-Covid.”
The conference will feature FLOHS Founder and President Dr. Eddie Williams as the keynote speaker. In addition, there will be a series of several breakout sessions centered on the topics of coping, counseling and connecting led by local speakers.
Designed for professionals and students in the human services sector, the conference is open to both members and non-members of FLOHS.

Williams has 16 years of experience providing psychotherapy to clients diagnosed with mental health and substance abuse disorders. He is a licensed mental health counselor, licensed marriage and family therapist, and licensed as a master’s certified addiction professional in the state of Florida. Williams is the author of the only known human services board-certified practitioner’s study guide. He has also taught at the collegiate level at both Saint Leo University and Pasco-Hernando State College, where he is the program manager of the human services department.
