Former President Donald Trump and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis met on Sunday to apparently bury the hatchet.

And not between anyone’s shoulder blades.

Trump and his former rival for the Republican presidential nomination met in Miami on Sunday to work out how DeSantis could help Trump defeat President Joe Biden.

According to multiple reports, DeSantis requested the meeting, which was brokered by real-estate broker Steve Witkoff.

An unnamed Trump campaign official called it a “good meeting.”

“It’s a great development and makes perfect sense for Trump, Desantis, and all Republicans,” Roy Bailey, one of the three finance chairmen for DeSantis’ presidential campaign, told Politico.

“Gov. DeSantis had a really strong volunteer finance team and if we could plug that in and help Trump then that’s what we need to do — and want to do. It’s important to all get together and row in the same direction.”

DeSantis, unlike Nikki Haley, has kept his promise to help the GOP nominee, whoever it might be.

There was much speculation on social media about what the meeting may have involved.

However, one popular take came from Scott Presler, the GOP activist who tirelessly works to recruit new GOP voters.

“Imagine if Governor DeSantis raised money for a voter registration operation that helps elect President Trump,” he posted on X. “DeSantis would go down in history as having helped save the country.”
