Second Suspect Arrested In Deadly St. Petersburg Home Invasion

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Authorities have arrested the second suspect in connection with a deadly home invasion that occurred on April 16th at a residence on 40th Street North.

St. Petersburg detectives have identified Ja’quavius Corde Daniels, 22, as the second individual involved in the incident that resulted in the death of 19-year-old Marcel James Williams.

Daniels is charged with Felony Murder for his alleged role in the home invasion. According to police, he turned himself in to the authorities last night.

The incident unfolded on April 16th when St. Petersburg police officers responded to reports of a home invasion at 3401 40th Street North. Investigators determined that two armed men had entered the home.

The homeowner confronted the intruders and fired shots. One of the suspects, Marcel James Williams, was struck by the gunfire. He was transported to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The second suspect, later identified as Danils, fled the scene following the shooting.

Following further investigation, detectives were able to identify Daniels as the second suspect involved in the home invasion and secured a warrant for his arrest
