U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) from Philadelphia wrapped up a large-scale operation on April 29 that resulted in the removal of over 130 illegal aliens from Central Asia.
Ninety of the individuals removed were under the watch of ICE Philadelphia.
The repatriation flight, which originated with the group from Philadelphia, joined with a final contingent of individuals in New York before continuing its journey to Uzbekistan on April 30. The removed aliens were identified as being from across the United States and included nationals of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.

According to ERO, Uzbekistan fully funded the deportation of its own nationals on the flight, a point underscored by U.S. officials as a demonstration of deep security cooperation and a potential model for international alliances.
“The Department of Homeland Security’s coordination with the government of Uzbekistan was instrumental in the successful removal of these individuals. Under Secretary Noem’s leadership, this operation not only reinforced our strong international partnerships but also strengthened national security,” said Brian McShane, acting Field Office Director for ERO Philadelphia. “It is precisely this kind of leadership that enables ICE to continue to fulfill its mission of protecting the American public by ensuring that our immigration enforcement efforts uphold safety and security for communities across the country.”
ICE routinely conducts arrests of individuals who have committed crimes and others found to be in violation of U.S. immigration laws. The agency states that all aliens in violation of these laws may be subject to arrest, detention, and removal from the United States if they receive a final order of removal, regardless of their nationality.

Since January 20, ICE has reported a significant increase in its immigration enforcement activities, supported by other federal law enforcement agencies and Department of Defense partners. The agency is currently in the process of compiling and validating data to update its enforcement statistics, which are presently three months in arrears and published quarterly, in an effort to provide the public with timely and accurate information on its operations.
