TAMPA, Fla. – A St. Petersburg man sustained serious injuries following a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 275 in Tampa early Saturday morning that resulted in his ejection from the vehicle and the vehicle bursting into flames.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash happened at around 3:10 AM near the 41-milepost of I-275 southbound in Tampa. A 34-year-old male from St. Petersburg was driving an Infinity G37 when he reportedly lost control of the vehicle.

The car veered into the median, where it collided with a guardrail. The impact caused the vehicle to overturn, and the driver was ejected during the crash sequence.

Following the crash, the Infinity G37 caught fire and sustained extensive damage from the flames.

Emergency responders transported the driver to an area hospital with serious injuries.
