SPRING HILL, Fla. – A Spring Hill man was arrested on Thursday, May 1, 2025, following an investigation into the possession of child pornography, according to the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office. Jacob Peter Gorman, 21, of Chesterfield Drive, faces multiple charges after detectives uncovered Child Sex Abuse Material (CSAM) linked to him.

The investigation began on November 9, 2024, when the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office received information regarding the possession of child pornography. Subsequent inquiries identified Gorman as a suspect.

On February 18, 2025, detectives established probable cause, leading to a court-authorized search warrant for Gorman’s social media account. The results of the search, conducted on February 19, 2025, confirmed the presence of CSAM on the account. Authorities believe the material depicted Gorman himself as a juvenile.

Further investigation revealed that Gorman allegedly sent the file containing CSAM to 14 separate users on the social media platform. Detectives also discovered that Gorman had recently been using the account to communicate with other users, falsely claiming to be between the ages of 12 and 18.

On April 22, 2025, the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office Special Victim’s Unit contacted Gorman at his Spring Hill residence. During the interaction, Gorman reportedly confirmed that the email address and social media account containing the CSAM belonged to him and acknowledged that he was the individual depicted in the illegal material.
